Nassau-based IT solutions provider, Cloud Carib, in collaboration with CLX Logistics Bahamas, has donated over 140 Cisco networking devices to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (GoSVG) to support recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl. This equipment will play a key role in improving communication systems for government agencies, helping to accelerate recovery and restore essential services.
With CLX Logistics ensuring swift and secure delivery, these advanced Cisco IP devices—integrated with Cisco Expressway for secure remote access and Cisco Webex for seamless collaboration—will enable government teams to maintain efficient communication during crisis situations. This partnership highlights the dedication of both companies to strengthening communication infrastructure and building resilience across the region.
Mr. Carlon Browne, Director of The Information Technology Services Division of GoSVG, expressing his gratitude, said, “This donation is a crucial step towards restoring our communication infrastructure after Hurricane Beryl, which is vital for coordinating recovery efforts. We deeply appreciate the generosity and support from Cloud Carib and CLX Logistics during this challenging time.”
Ceri Howell, CEO at CLX Logistics, added, “We are proud to partner with Cloud Carib in this important initiative. Efficient logistics are crucial in disaster recovery, and we are committed to ensuring that vital equipment reaches those who need it most.”
Victor Kovacs, Cloud Carib’s Chief Operating Officer, stated, “We understand the critical role of communication in disaster recovery. By donating this equipment, we aim to empower the SVG government to re-establish vital communication links, enabling efficient coordination of relief efforts and swift restoration of services.”
As the Bahamas marks the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Dorian, Cloud Carib reflects on the lessons learned and the importance of preparedness and collaboration in the face of natural disasters. This donation to a fellow CARICOM partner serves as a reminder of the company’s dedication to supporting the region’s recovery and building a stronger, more connected future.
